The media in the UK today broadcasted the news that was published by the Finnish newspapers MTV Sport regarding the imminent arrival of Finish U-21 international Aapo Halme from HJK Helsinki to the ranks of Leeds United for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old defender played for FC Honka and Klubi-04 in a domestic championship, before moving to HJK in 2015.
The young centre-back main characteristics are physical strength and good tackling ability; he is good in aerial duels and dangerous in opponent’ six-yard box after the set-pieces. If he adapts to English football, he could be a great boost for Leeds.
The transfer should be officially announced in the next few days when prospective defender passes medical examinations.
Leeds’ manager Thomas Christiansen labeled Halme as a top priority for the defensive department for a January transfer window, and as at it seems, his wish is about to be fulfilled.
