Celtic reportedly set to allow defender to leave in January

According to a report published by the Scottish Sun, Celtic may allow Cristian Gamboa to leave the club this month, given that the player has not managed to settle into life in Scotland.

Gamboa was one of the first players that manager Brendan Rodgers brought to Parkhead when he was appointed manager of the club.

The 28-year old has however failed to impress and has managed to make just 14 League starts and 23 appearances in all competitions for the club.

He has also slipped further down the pecking order at the club this season and has made just two appearances in all competitions, one of which came during the clubs 3-0 Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich.

The Costa Rican has been linked with a move to the MLS and with Anthony Ralston having agreed to sign a new contract at Parkhead, it is likely that the Scottish giants will allow him to leave.
