Leeds United reportedly keen on £1.5million-rated English playmaker

As per The Yorkshire Post, Leeds United are looking to bring Bolton Wanderers midfielder Josh Vela to Elland Road this month, but they face stiff competition from Sheffield Wednesday.

Derby County and Premier League side Brighton are also interested in the 24-year-old Englishman who could be available for £1.5million.

Bolton are currently fighting relegation, and while they won’t be willing to let go of one of their best men, Leeds’ promotion chances could tempt Vela into a move.

The Whites could do with additional legs in midfield during what is now a very crucial part of the campaign, and Vela’s qualities and versatility fit the bill.

The Bolton Academy graduate can also play at right-back due to his tackling, ball interception and crossing abilities.

With almost 150 games to his name, Vela packs a lot of experience under his belt and does know a thing or two about promotion bids having played a huge role in helping his side return to the Championship from the League One last term.

With a goal and 3 league assists to his name this term, the highly-rated central midfielder can also be an occasional goalscoring outlet for Leeds should a move work out.
