Why EPL-winning winger can help West Ham escape relegation upon his January arrival

Schurrle

According to The Guardian, West Ham are keen on landing out-of-favour Borussia Dortmund winger André Schürrle on loan until the end of the campaign.

Hammers manager David Moyes, while not particularly keen on adding more attackers to his squad, reckons the Germany international could be worth an addition given his knowledge of the Premier League and qualities.

Schurrle, a title winner with Chelsea and part of the squad that won the 2014 World Cup has started just 1 Bundesliga game for Dortmund, coming off the bench on 3 other occasions this term.

A temporary exit is all but guaranteed for the 27-year-old this month as he knows only regular playing time will give him a chance of going to the World Cup.

West Ham are currently 18th on the log after 20 games, and quality additions this month must be recruited if they are to escape the relegation scrap.

For all his experience and finishing prowess, Schürrle represents a shrewd signing the east Londoners can make in their bid to retain their topflight status.

That he has a lot to prove to the German national team selectors within such a short while means West Ham can expect to get the best out of him during a crucial part of the campaign.
