According to a report published by The Mirror, West Ham manager David Moyes could be set to make a move for Jonjo Shelvey during the January transfer window.
The Hammers are one of the clubs that are likely to look to bolster their side during the January transfer window as they look to avoid relegation.
The 25 year old Shelvey appears to have fallen down the pecking order at the Magpies this season and he is no longer a certain starter for the club.
Shelvey is known to have a history of anger management issues and has been sent off twice already this season.
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez may be tempted into selling Shelvey during the January transfer window in order to make new purchases for his side, who also face the potential threat of relegation at the end of the season.
Newcastle would likely want a fee around the £12 million which they paid to recruit him two years ago.
