Liverpool boss Klopp describes the victory over Leicester as perfect

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp described his side’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Saturday as “pretty much perfect”. Jamie Vardy put the Foxes ahead during the game after combining well with Riyadh Mahrez.

However the in-form Mohamed Salah struck a brace during the second half to ensure all three points for the Reds and ensure that they finish the year in fourth place on the Premier League standings.

Liverpool are back in action on New Year’s Day when they take on Burnley. Reds new signing Virgil Van Dijk may be eligible to play during the game against the Clarets.

“It is a maximum satisfaction to win like this today and on perfect days we win football games,” Klopp told reporters. “Today was pretty much perfect.

“When we were one goal down our reaction was the best I’ve ever seen in this situation. The crowd were unbelievable and we needed them today to score these two goals. Mo was fantastic with his dribbling and his vision. I couldn’t ask more from him.

“Staying in the game is the real deal of football in this league but I am happy for Mo, I am happy for the team because this group is a fantastic group of players. It’s a good team performance and a well deserved win.”
