West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed that youngster Reece Oxford has returned from his loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach and could be set to return to first team plans.
“We will take a look at him and see how he is,” he told reporters. “I hope we can help improve him. I’ve only just met him, but I know he is well thought of here and we will work with him.”
The 19-year old was meant to spend the entire season with Monchengladbach but returns after a five month spell.
Despite only making a handful of appearances for Gladbach, the Bundesliga club were reportedly happy with what they had seen and were hoping to sign him on a permanent basis.
In addition to Gladbach, RB Leipzig were also interested in signing Oxford but it now appears that Moyes wants to give him another chance to shine at the London Stadium.
