West Ham and Everton to battle over £13million-rated triple league-winning winger

According to AS, Everton and West Ham are both keen on the services of out-of-favour Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder Nicolas Gaitan ahead of the January transfer window.

The Argentine, a long-term Premier League target, has failed to break into the first team at the La Liga outfit since arriving from Benfica last summer, starting more than half of his games on the bench.

A January exit is more than certain, and Gaitan’s availability has attracted a lot of EPL sides including Crystal Palace and Watford.

The Hammers did bid for the 29-year-old winger during the summer and are planning on returning with another one.

The Toffees are also keen as boss Sam Allardyce is looking to add width to his attack.

Gaitan, a 3-time league winner with Benfica boasts of experience and skill sets that can improve the fortunes of both clubs in front of goal.

He remains a threat in carving open defenses with a single pass, while his pin-point deliveries are a blessing to any striker.

With more suitors bound to emerge in Gaitan’s pursuit, however, both Everton and West Ham will have to buckle up to have a chance.
