West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed that his club are interested in strengthening their midfield and want to sign right sided midfielders during the January transfer window.
“We’re short in some areas and overloaded in others,” Moyes told the club’s website. “For example, we’ve got lots of forwards, but we’re really short of midfield players.
“We’ve got quite a few who are comfortable playing on the left, but not so many who can play on the right, so we’ve got a little bit of an imbalanced squad which we’ve got to straighten out in January if we can.”
The Hammers are currently in 17th position on the Premier League standings and Moyes wants to add more players to his squad in January as he looks to help them avoid relegation.
West Ham next take on 19th place West Brom on January 3. Under Moyes, the club has improved and has managed to only lose once in their last five games.
This included a victory over defending Champions Chelsea as well as a point against Arsenal.
