Leeds reportedly reignite interest in 24-year-old assist king ahead of January transfer

Leeds United are said to be keen on the signature of Peterborough attacking midfielder Marcus Maddison once again as per ClubCall, and did send scouts to watch the 24-year-old League 2 assist king in action on Boxing Day against Bradford City.

His teammate forward Jack Marriott was also checked out, with both impressing in the 3-1 victory.

Maddison ended up supplying both of Marriott’s brace, taking his tally to 23 assists in 24 league games this term, while the latter took his goal tally to 17 league goals.

Leeds were keen on bringing the midfielder to Elland Road in January, only for former owner Massimo Cellino to pull the plug on a deal last minute – a decision Maddison was very disappointed in.

While a move is being mulled over this time around, the Whites are yet to officially approach Peterborough, but it can’t be denied what a great signing he would be.

Maddison is also able to play on both flanks and could be another source of goals for Leeds, but it remains to be seen if he’s a very necessary signing given that the likes of Samuel Saiz and Pablo Hernandez are doing just the perfect job in the position already.
