According to Ed Aarons – the deputy news editor at The Guardian – Everton, alongside Manchester City and Chelsea, are keen on the signature of Nice midfielder Jean Seri in January.
The Ivory Coast international has attracted a couple of big wigs on the continent since his explosive form last term with the Ligue 1 side, and a summer move to Barcelona was very close.
Seri is still willing to leave Nice, and for £25million, the Goodison Park could be his next stop.
Barcelona haven’t maintained interest, City already have 2 defensive midfielders that will keep him out of the team while Chelsea have 3.
At 26, regular football is non-negotiable for Seri, and that will be available at Everton given his quality.
Built in the mould and stamina of a box-to-box midfielder, the African star boasts of a wide range of passes and positioning that makes up for his lack of great tackling.
Seri scored 7 goals and assisted 9 others in the league last term, and has already registered 1 goal and 3 assists in 13 appearances this term.
The Toffees can without a doubt do with such top quality within their ranks.
