Everton boss Allardyce speaks on rumours regarding N’Zonzi

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has admitted that his club are unlikely to sign Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla during the January transfer window.

Big Sam is known to be a big fan of N’Zonzi and previously worked with the player while managing Blackburn Rovers.

In addition to this, he also recently revealed that he tried to call up the player to represent the England national team while he managed the Three Lions, however the fact that N’Zonzi had represented France at U-21 level made him ineligible.

N’Zonzi has fallen out with the Sevilla manager and has not played since November which has led to speculation that he could join the Toffees during the January transfer period.

Allardyce has however since admitted that a move is unlikely as his priority is to sign a new defender and striker.

He said, “It is impossible for me to block that up even more by bringing in someone when we would be better served in other areas. i.e another goalscorer, maybe another full-back. After that who knows.”
