Benitez reportedly planning to cash in on Newcastle quintet to boost funds

As per Chronicle Live, Newcastle will look to cash in on a couple of fringe and out-of-favour players in January as manager Rafa Benitez looks to raise funds to shop in the window.

Offers will be listened to for the quintet of Henri Saivet, Mo Diame, Massadio Haidara, Jack Colback and Rolando Aarons, and it doesn’t appear they will be missed having hardly been of great influence to the Toons this term.

It remains to be seen if club owner Mike Ashley will be providing enough funds during the winter having failed to months ago, and Benitez reckons trimming his squad for profit could do the trick.

Saivet has featured just once for Newcastle in the league this season, and despite contributing a goal during weekend’s 3-2 victory over West Ham, he has clearly not lived up to expectation since joining from Bordeaux.

Diame has also played below the required level, and is being linked with a move to the Championship, while Turkish Super Lig sides Goztepe and Sivasspor are also keeping tabs.

Colback, who has been completely frozen out of the first team, is linked with a return to Sunderland, while Leeds United are said to be keen on Aarons who has played just 66 minutes of EPL football this term.
