Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has admitted that he is hoping to sign Chelsea youngster Kenedy during the January transfer window.
The Magpies will have to wait and see if Chelsea manage to bring in new players to their squad in January before they find out whether they will be able to sign Kenedy till the end of the season.
The Magpies have been on a poor run of form recently and they are one of the teams that are likely to make squad additions in January as they look to boost their chances of survival this season.
Benitez told the Chronicle: “Kenedy was one of the names in the past and we were interested. We will see if we can do something now. It’s not a done deal though.
“We are trying to bring in what we need and he (Kenedy) is a player that has energy and because of his age that could be fine for us. But it’s still not done, it’s a conversation at the moment.”
