Another suitor has been added to the list of those keen on the services of Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, with Borussia Dortmund appearing to have joined the race.
The Sporting Director of the Bundesliga giants Michael Zorc recently admitted on German Sky Sport when asked if his club were keen on the 23-year-old: “He is an excellent player.”
Dortmund are known to be long-term admirers of Can, and it seems they are now ready to battle Juventus and Manchester City for the signature of the former Bayern Munich man.
A move in January looks certain for the wantaway midfielder, but it is understood that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is still persuading his countryman to put pen to paper for a contract extension.
It remains to be seen if the Merseysiders will prefer to lose Can for free by summer rather than cash in on him when the winter transfer window opens.
Despite starting 11 league games this term, Liverpool wouldn’t have an issue with Can’s exit given their depth in midfield, with the likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and the incoming Naby Keita able to help soften the blow.
