As per YEP, Leeds United have joined Sheffield United in the race for the signature of Manchester United striker James Wilson ahead of the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old Englishman is yet to play first team football since picking up a cruciate ligament injury on loan at Derby County last October.
However, a loan exit appears to be on the card till the end of the season following Wilson’s return to full fitness.
Leeds are looking to bolster their forward line next month as they target a spot in the playoffs places, and while the Red Devils starlet hasn’t done anything of recent to prove he’s capable of helping out, his topflight experience would come handy.
Wilson displayed his potential 3 seasons ago, playing 13 league games for United. He garnered Championship experience playing for Brighton & Hove Albion the following term, managing to net 5 strikes in 27 appearances.
Leeds are currently out of top 6 on the Championship table, but a highly-rated finisher like Wilson can help provide the necessary depth needed to excel in front of goal in the second half of the campaign.
