Newcastle United attacker reportedly set to leave in January

According to reports, Aleksandar Mitrovic is in line to leave Newcastle during the January transfer window with a number of Championship clubs interested as well as his former club Partizan Belgrade.

Despite the Magpies struggling to score goals this season, Mitrovic has yet to start a Premier League game for the club this season and he is likely to be keen on leaving in order to find first team football elsewhere and keep match fit ahead of the 2018 World Cup where he will represent Serbia.

Whether he will agree to drop down to the Championship level however remains to be seen. The 23-year old Mitrovic has only made several appearances in all competitions for the Magpies this season, scoring two goals in the process.

Meanwhile Magpies boss Rafa Benitez will look to add a new striker to his squad during the January transfer window and one player who the club has been strongly linked with is Liverpool striker Danny Ings.
