Everton boss reportedly eyeing shock move for Championship attacker

According to reports, Everton boss Sam Allardyce is considering the possibility of signing Whabi Khazri during the summer transfer window. Allardyce is a fan of Khazri and worked with him while the duo were at Sunderland.

Khazri is currently on a season long-loan deal at French club Rennes from Sunderland and has been in impressive form this season scoring several goals from 19 appearances.

He is likely to remain at Rennes for the rest of this season as players are not allowed to represent more than two clubs during a single season.

Khazri did play for Sunderland during the early parts of the season and this means that he cannot join another club in January.

Khazri played a key role for Sunderland under Sam Allardyce as the Black Cats avoided relegation during the 2015-16 season.

He however fell down the pecking order at the club last season in what was a disastrous term for the Black Cats as they ended up finishing in last place on the Premier League standings and being relegated to the Championship.
