West Ham reportedly identify £15million Irishman as long-term successor to Mark Noble

As per The Sun, West Ham are keen on Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter and will table a £15million offer for the 27-year-old in January.

The Hammers are looking to shore up their midfield in order to steer clear of relegation, and manager David Moyes sees the Cherries man as a great option.

Apart from helping to provide enough cover and competition, the defensively-solid Ireland international could also succeed the ageing Mark Noble as far as meeting homegrown quota goes.

Arter has been in and out of the starting XI at the Vitality Stadium this term, and Bournemouth could be willing to cash in should he agree to a switch.

West Ham could do with the quality of a man who already knows one or two things about the Premier League, as opposed to bringing in a foreigner midway through the campaign.

Moyes will be strongly backed by the board in the window in order for him to get his desired targets for the second half of the campaign, and Arter seems like a fine addition that can help the side going forward should a successful swoop take place.
