Chris Sutton has said that there could be a title race this season after Celtic slumped to a 4-0 defeat against Hearts on Sunday.

Sutton told BT Sport : “Just a huge congratulations to Celtic for that incredible domestic run, 69 games, that is some achievement.

“We will not see the likes of this in Scottish football again. Well done to Brendan Rodgers and Scott Brown and this Celtic team.

“It’s good for Scottish football and the rest of the sides that they’ve seen Celtic taken down.

“Well done to Hearts and Craig Levein, there were those calling for Levein not to be at Hearts not so long ago. They will be eating a large slice of humble Christmas cake.

“I know all Scottish teams and managers out there will really respect the job that Brendan Rodgers has done, but there is hope for other clubs now, and we could have a title race on.”

The defeat was the first for the Bhoys since Brendan Rodgers took charge of the club ahead of last season.

Though Celtic are still favourites to win the Scottish Premiership yet again, Aberdeen and Rangers are only two and five points adrift respectively.

The duo have a game in hand over Celtic who will have an opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the standings when they face off against Partick Thistle on Wednesday.
