Everton star Wayne Rooney has suggested that striker Olivier Giroud should be a regular starter for Arsenal.
The French international has struggled for starts at the Gunners this season following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette and despite this he has managed to score several goals, mainly coming off the bench.
The lack of game time this season is likely to be of major frustration to the 31-year-old especially as he hopes to start for the France national team at the 2018 World Cup.
Nonetheless, Rooney believes that Giroud, who is a reported transfer target of Everton, should be starting for Arsenal.
“The one player for me who has to start [for Arsenal] is Olivier Giroud,” the former Manchester United striker told talkSPORT.
“He scores goals and, every time he comes on he scores. He’s a handful and hard to play against. For me, if he was starting games for Arsenal, they would be a better team.”
