According to a report published by The Daily Mail, Everton are interested in signing Lille defender Adama Soumaoro.
The 25-year-old has been valued at around £20 million and Lille may have to sell him in order to reduce their financial troubles.
Soumaoro had to miss the opening games of the season due to tendinitis in an Achilles but he has since returned to first team action.
Everton are looking to bolster their defence as from mistakes at the back cost them dearly during the opening games of the season.
They have reportedly been monitoring the performances of Soumaoro during recent times and have compiled favourable reports.
West Ham, Monaco and Borussia Dortmund are other clubs who have been reported to be interested in Soumaoro, who can play across the back four, however it appears to be Everton that are currently lead the race to sign him.
