Everton boss Allardyce explains why Swansea are struggling

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that he thinks that Swansea City are struggling to score goals this season because of Fernando Llorente’s departure to Tottenham during the summer.

Ahead of their game against Everton on Monday, the Swans have scored only nine goals from 17 League games this season and are currently etched to the bottom of the standings.

Though summer signings Tammy Abraham and Wilfried Bony have chipped in with goals, they have received little help from elsewhere.

Everton face off against Swansea on Monday and Sam Allardyce’s men will be the favourites considering that his side have had the better recent form.

Speaking ahead of the game, Allardyce revealed that a major reason as to why the Swans may be struggling is because they lost Llorente during the summer.

“I think Paul (Clement) did an unbelievable job at Swansea when he came in last year,” said Allardyce. “He was so disappointed he hasn’t been able to take it on from there. But like everywhere, there was a change around in players.”

“The impact Llorente had with Paul was one of the main reasons they stayed in the league and it has probably been his problem now, where they haven’t got enough goals, or as many as Llorente scored, and hence they have not picked up as many points as they would like,” he added.
