According to reports from Spain, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale would prefer joining Tottenham over Manchester United or Chelsea.
After falling down the pecking order at Madrid and being hampered by injuries, Bale is expected to leave Madrid in the near future and has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, United and a return to Tottenham whom he left in 2013 to join the Spanish giants.
Madrid may be keen to offload him in order to fund a move for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. Spanish side Don Balon has claimed that Bale has made returning to Spurs his priority.
Bale established himself as a star during his six year spell with Spurs and he helped the club win the EFL Trophy in 2008 – which was the last time that they won a piece of major silverware. Meanwhile Diego Maradona has encouraged Madrid to sell Bale and buy Kylian Mbappe.
He said: “They should sell Bale, they should give him away. I expect Florentino wouldn’t, but maybe he can do a deal, and let Bale go to AC Milan or Inter. They have to sign Mbappe, for me he’s the next big thing, he could overtake many players.”
