Celtic and Newcastle have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda, as Blues boss Antonio Conte has confirmed he will send the Belgian out on loan next month.
The attacking midfielder just put pen to paper to extend his Stamford Bridge stay until 2022, and a temporary exit in order to fast track his development is being mulled over.
The Toons were keen on Musonda during the summer, and could return for his signature with manager Rafa Benitez badly in need of reinforcements following his side’s drop into the relegation zone.
The Hoops are also keen on the 21-year-old with boss Brendan Rodgers a great admirer.
Chelsea will most likely tilt towards sending Musonda to where he can be guaranteed regular playing time, and Parkhead seems like that place.
That there is also European football on offer at Scotland could be an added advantage, with the continental experience the highly-rated playmaker will garner bound to come useful for the Blues going forward.
Musonda’s services won’t come easy for either suitor, though, with more offers certain to come in for the talented wonderkid in the coming days.
