Outspoken former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins has suggested that David Moyes is not behind the recent resurgence that West Ham have had.

Despite still very much being in the relegation battle, the Hammers have played an improved brand of football recently as was seen during their narrow 2-1 defeat against Manchester City, 1-0 win against Chelsea and 0-0 draw against Arsenal.

Under Moyes, the Hammers have so far looked to be more fit, more organized, disciplined and motivated. This has led to the former Manchester United and Everton boss being praised for improving the side.

Wilkins however feels that the turnaround is not due to Moyes by saying, “You look at West ham at the weekend, is that what David Moyes – or Sam Allardyce at Everton – is doing or is that finally that some of these players have realised ‘I’ve gotta liven myself up’.”
