According to reports, West Ham and Celtic will do battle in January in the race to sign highly-rated Reading defender Liam Moore.
Since arriving at the Royals during the summer of 2016, Moore has managed to churn out some impressive displays for his side.
Hammers manager David Moyes is looking to bolster his defence for the second half of the season as he aims to direct his club away from the relegation zone.
Celtic meanwhile are also hoping to bolster their side as they look to win domestic honours and have a deep run in the Europa League.
Reading however will be reluctant to part ways with Moore who signed a new four-and a half year contract with the club during the summer as he is a key part of their team.
“Let me put it like this. If you want to build a club and go somewhere you’re not going to sell one of your best players”, the Daily Express quotes him as saying.
“The squad would get smaller every time and you’d have to look for other players again so it makes it difficult for the club to progress.
“If he is mentioned I can understand that because he has got the ability – like other players in the squad – to step up. That’s how it goes if you’re doing well.”
