Ex-Liverpool star wants this player to leave Anfield

Sturridge

Former Liverpool star Dietmar Hamann has said that the club should have sold Daniel Sturridge two years ago.  Due to his injury problems, Hamann feels that Sturridge is more costly than he is worth to the Reds.

Sturridge has fallen down the pecking order at the club this season and has started just five Premier League matches.

Recent reports have suggested that he will look to leave the club during the January transfer window in order to boost his chances of making the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Hamann said, “I would have sold him a long time ago. Club is asking for too much money, a player who plays 20% of the games is worth 20% of his true value so I’d let him go for £8m probably. He’s cost us more than that by not playing.”

Hamann also took a swipe at Jordan Henderson and when asked if he thinks that Henderson was a good fit for the number six role in midfield, he replied saying, “No thanks!”
