Everton manager Sam Allardyce speaks regarding the future of Ross Barkley

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has responded to the transfer rumors linking Ross Barkley with an exit, by saying that he will be willing to abide by any decision the board makes in regards to the player and that he has no opinion in the matter.

Barkley is into the final year of his contract and it looks very likely that he will be leaving Goodison Park in the near future. However, Barkley surprisingly decided to stay with Everton when presented an opportunity to join Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

This has left Barkley’s future with Everton in a limbo as the player has refused to both sign a new deal and agree to move elsewhere.

Reporters recently asked Allardyce about his input regarding the situation and the ex-England boss remained coy, suggesting that he will do whatever the board decides regarding the player.

Allardyce said, “It’s a difficult one. I haven’t had the opportunity yet to find out the true, or the whole, scenario and say, ‘Where does it lie?’ and then make a decision one way or the other. I’m not in control of that in too many ways.

“If someone comes in during January and says ‘Here you go’ and the club say, ‘Look, if he’s not going to sign for us, this has to be the case’ then I accept that.”
