According to reports, West Ham are in advanced talks with Declan Rice over a new deal at the club.
The 18-year-old has broken into the Hammers first team this season and has so far managed 11 appearances in total for the club.
After moving from Chelsea to West Ham in 2014, Rice progressed through the youth ranks and has since managed to establish himself as an increasingly key player for the side.
Talks are reported to be going well and West Ham will be hoping that Rice will remain at the club beyond his current deal which runs until the summer of 2019.
Rice has shown that he could be a potential star of the future and it is good that the Hammers have taken steps to extend his stay at the club.
Despite being very inexperienced, he performed well at centre-back against the might of Manchester City which persuaded Jamie Redknapp to compare him to a young John Terry.
