Leeds United will reportedly have to compete with Rangers and fellow Championship side Reading in the race to sign Cardiff City fullback Declan John.
The left-back position as been problematic for the Whites this season and despite taking Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on loan from Manchester United, they have utilized right back GetanoBerardi and Vurnon Anita at left-back.
The 22-year-old John does not appear to be in the plans of Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock as he was allowed to join Rangers on loan.
John has so far scored two goals and registered two assists from ten appearances for the Gers and recent reports have suggested that the Scottish club will look to make the deal permanent.
Leeds however have superior financial muscle and this could have them an advantage over Rangers.
This is a player who has long been linked with a move to Elland Road and with the left-back situation remaining problematic at the club, it remains to be seen if it will materialize.
