Could sensational 22-year-old EPL winger help Leeds promotion charge if signed in January?

According to reports, Leeds United are keen on out-of-favour Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons ahead of next month’s transfer window.

The 22-year-old forward has played just 50 minutes of Premier League this term over 2 substitute appearances, and has only featured in 16 times in league competitions across the last 3 campaigns.

However, it’s believed more playing minutes can get the one-time promising sensation back on track, and it seems Leeds are willing to take a punt.

Aarons’ style of play – pace and dribbles – is tailor-made for the Leeds system under manager Thomas Christiansen, and should he hit the ground running at Elland Road, the gamble might be well worth the risk in the end.

The former England youth international has similar playing style to Whites winger Hadi Sacko, but has a more impressive creative flair that can help Leeds create more opportunities in the final third.

Aarons is almost certain to leave Tyneside next month, and should Elland Road become his next stop, he could help boost their Premier League promotion ambitions.
