West Ham manager David Moyes has said that aiming to get good results for his club are more important than whether Joe Hart is selected or not.
Hart was replaced by Adrian for the Hammers game against Manchester City last weekend as the 30-year-old is still contracted to City.
After the Spaniard delivered a good performance against the runaway League leaders, Moyes opted to retain him in goal for the game against Chelsea this weekend.
Adrian was once again impressive and he is likely to retain the first choice position for the immediate future.
“I always have compassion for the players as well, that’s why it wasn’t an easy decision on Joe,” Moyes told reporters. “But, ultimately, it’s West Ham I have to get results for.
“He wasn’t happy. I told him the reason why and that happens at clubs all over the country. It’s a manager’s job. When I came in, I said I will tell you straight, I wouldn’t kid anybody.”
This will be a major blow to Hart especially as he is hoping to play for England at the 2018 World Cup.
