Newcastle and Everton reportedly handed boost in pursuit of 3-time Serie A-winning midfielder

Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro is a target of Premier League duo Everton and Newcastle, with his agent confirming last month: “It’s pleasing that during each transfer window, Stefano is in demand in Italy and abroad.

“In the Premier League, for example, the attention tends to come from clubs like Everton and Newcastle.”

It’s believed both teams will be returning for his signature next month, and while Valencia are also now interested, that they want the Italy international on a loan move could hinder their chances, as Juve are only keen on selling.

The Italian giants are planning on signing Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi next month, and Sturaro’s exit is certain once that happens.

The Toons and Toffees are hoping to bolster their midfield options ahead of the second half of the campaign, and the 3-time Serie A winner can be a great addition to both sides.

The 24-year-old can also play at right-back and is an excellent box-to-box midfielder.

Newcastle boast of only 3 top defensive midfielders within their ranks, and it can be argued that Sturaro is an upgrade on them.

Everton can also do with another top defensive midfielder, with Idrissa Gueye the only quality enforcer within the starting XI.

With Juventus keen to sell, the highest bidder will likely emerge tops in the race for the Italian powerhouse.
