Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has admitted that he is an admirer of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.
Despite handing in a transfer request to the Reds to try and force through a move to Barcelona during the summer transfer window, Coutinho has been in fine form this season.
The 25-year-old has formed a deadly combination with Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and was destructive as his side recorded a 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow last week in the Champions League to book their place in the last 16 of the competition.
Lampard is one of many who has now admitted that he has been impressed by the progress made by the Brazilian.
Speaking to BT Sport last week, Lampard said: “What impresses me is that with the brilliant football we see, he doesn’t have to do the brilliant skill. He can do the simple passes in lightning speed.
“They’re really unplayable when they do it. The top players don’t always do the tricks.”
