Everton and West Ham on alert as manager admits defender could leave

Everton and West Ham have been put on alert after West Brom manager Alan Pardew admitted that he fears losing Jonny Evans.

“I’m never confident when you’ve got great players because other clubs want great players, so your best players are always vulnerable,” Pardew said, as reported by Sky Sports.

“Jonny Evans is definitely one of them and he is our captain. Do I want to lose him? Of course not. Do I fear losing him? Of course I do.”

Reports have revealed that West Ham and Everton are both interested in signing the centre-back while Manchester City and Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested in signing the former Manchester United man.

The 29-year-old has been in exceptional form for the Baggies and is arguably one of the best left-backs in the Premier League so it will definitely be a blow to the side if they end up losing him.

The prospect of playing for a club like City, Everton or Arsenal may however be too good to turn down at this stage of Evans career.
