This Friday, six Colombian players abroad featured in five different games across Spain, Portugal and Ecuador. The most notable player in these matches was arguably Daniel Torres while the only goalscorer was Miguel Antonio Perez but here is a rundown of all the Colombian players abroad that played this Friday.
Daniel Torres
The defensive midfielder played 22 minutes in Deportivo Alaves’ 2-0 win against Las Palmas in the 15th matchday in La Liga. This game was crucial in the relegation race in the Spanish La Liga as Alaves moved up to 18th place with 12 points while Las Palmas is in 19th place with 10 points. Torres had very limited playing to do anything but still had some nice stats with nine total passes, one accurate long ball and one successful dribble attempt.
Adrian Ramos
The Veteran striker received 20 minutes off the bench in Granada’s exciting 3-2 win against Almeria in the Spanish second division. Like Daniel Torres, Adrian Ramos had a very limited amount of playing time but he also posted some nice stats. The 31-year-old had 9 total passes, one key pass, won five of 10 duels and even had two tackles in his 20 minutes off the bench. Granada is excelling in the Spanish second division now in second place with 30 points, just two points off league-leaders Huesca.
Juan Sebastian Quintero
The 22-year-old centre-back played all 90 minutes in Sporting Gijon’s 2-0 loss to Barcelona B in week 18 of the Spanish second division. Quintero had a solid game against the young Barcelona players with six interceptions, five tackles, two clearances, nine of 13 duels won and 43 total passes. Gijon is currently ninth in the Spanish second-tier league but the young Cali native will look to continue to improve on his loan from Deportivo Cali.
Oscar Barreto
Barreto played the entire first half in Rio Ave’s 2-1 win against Moreirense in the 14th matchday of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. The Bogota native did not have his best game ever with no shots on target or dribble attempts and just five accurate passes. But he should have also received more playing time as he has been a consistent starter for Rio Ave on his loan deal from Millonarios. The 24-year-old has shown potential before and will look to get back on track this Wednesday when Rio Aves host Benfica in the round of 16 in the Portuguese Cup.
Sherman Cardenas & Miguel Perez
Two Colombians featured in the Ecuadorian Serie A match between Liga de Quito and Clan Juvenil. Creative midfielder Sherman Cardenas featured for the hosts while 25-year-old striker Miguel Perez featured for the away team. Both players played all 90 minutes of the game as Cardenas’ Liga de Quito walked away with a comfortable 6-3 win in the final matchday of the Ecuadorian league. Miguel Perez’s Clan Juvenil took the tough loss but the Cartagena native did manage to score his team’s first goal of the game.
