Allardyce rejected a chance to sign Lukaku for just £10million

According to reports, Everton manager Sam Allardyce rejected the chance to sign Romelu Lukaku while he was managing West Ham.

West owner David Sullivan has now claimed that Allardyce rejected the chance to sign Lukaku, “I asked Sam if he fancied Lukaku. Sam said he’d take him on loan but he wouldn’t buy him for £10m. Again I’ve supported the manager.”

Allardyce managed the Hammers from 2011 to 2015 and led the club back to the Premier League after they were relegated to the Championship.

Since Allardyce left the club initially did well and finished an impressive 7th during the 2015/16 season before going on to finish 11th last term.

This season they are however playing poorly and look set to be involved in the relegation dogfight.

The club’s situation has caused animosity between fans and owners David Sullivan and David Gold.
