West Ham handed massive triple injury boost ahead of Chelsea clash

West Ham’s search for a first league win since September continues at the weekend when they host defending champions Chelsea.

Manager David Moyes has lost 3 and drawn 1 of his 4 games in charge of the Hammers, and picking up a point against the Blues will be seen as a great result.

Considering how injuries have been a constant issue for West Ham this term, they appear to have been handed a massive boost ahead of the London derby.

The trio of Winston Reid, James Collins and Javier Hernandez were back in training during the week and are likely to make the matchday squad for the Chelsea game.

The New Zealand international centre-back picked up a knock against Everton 2 matchdays ago, and his influence at the back was sorely missed against Manchester City.

His Welsh counterpart, Collins, has been missing in action since September due to an ankle ligament injury, but the return of the defensive duo can help restore missing steel to the Hammers backline.

Moyes is yet to see Chicharito in action since his unveiling, with the Mexican international picking up an hamstring injury during the last international break.

However, having him fit for the Blues’ visit alongside the aforementioned duo will be a welcome boost.
