According to a report published by The Daily Mail, Brighton and Hove Albion are planning a club record £20 million bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele during the January transfer window.
Seagulls manager Chris Hughton reportedly wants to add a striker to his side after failing to sign Vincent Janssen during the summer transfer window.
Dembele is rated as one of the best up and coming talents in European football and played a big role for Celtic last season as they went on to win the domestic treble unbeaten.
He has been valued at around £30 million and Brighton will try and test the waters by making a bid of around £20 million.
Brighton’s current club record fee is £13.5 million which they paid to recruit Colombian winger Jose Izquierdo in August.
If Dembele wants to succeed in big leagues then a move to Brighton could be good for him as it will allow him to prove that he can score goals in a League such as the Premiership.
