Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill is attracting both Leeds United and Newcastle United ahead of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old also has Premier League trio Bournemouth, Leicester, Burnley and Championship side Derby keen on his signature after an impressive start to 2017-18 that has produced 3 league goals and 2 assists thus far.
Newcastle are looking to recruit players that can help them stay up, while Leeds want few quality additions to help with their promotion push.
The Toons have lacked the goals to help with their mission, and have suddenly slipped down to 14th on the log, 5 points off the drop zone, despite a promising start to life back in the topflight.
In Brownhill, Rafa Benitez’s side can land an affordable and quality midfielder able to help create and score goals.
Leeds have gotten their promotion push back on track following recent slip ups, and while Brownhill can help add more verve to their midfield, it’s unlikely to see Bristol sell their star to aid their rivals’ topflight ambitions being playoff favorites themselves.
The English midfielder helped Preston End to the Football League Trophy 2 seasons ago, and also scored the only goal that helped Bristol escape relegation last term in a 1-nil win over Brighton.
Given Brownhill’s qualities, a battle between Newcastle, Leeds and emerging suitors is expected next month for a player Bristol will also go any length to hold on to.
