Serie A giants could deal a huge blow on Newcastle’s and Everton’s transfer plans

Premier League duo Everton and Newcastle have had Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun under their radars since the start of the season, with both sending scouts to watch the Turkey international ahead of the January transfer window.

The 2 sides have struggled in front of goal for the majority of the campaign, and the 26-year-old could prove to be a vital addition for the second half of the season if landed.

However, their chances have taken a big hit as Juventus have suddenly entered the race.

According to Fanatik, the Serie heavyweights watched Tosun in action over the weekend as Besiktas saw off bitter rivals Galatasaray 3-0 in the Istanbul derby.

The £30million-rated striker took his goal tally in the Super Lig to 11 goals through the opener, and it’s believed talks were held, with Juve now preparing an official bid.

The Toons could have a relegation battle on their hands if recent results don’t change, while the Merseysiders will now attempt to push for the Europa League spots after recent change in fortunes.

Both could do with a quality finisher in form of Tosun, but Juve pose a great threat to their chances of landing their top January transfer target.
