According to reports, Lionel Messi is not happy because he thinks that Barcelona have given up on trying to sign Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
Instead of Coutinho, the Spanish giants have been heavily linked with Gremio ace Arthur during recent times and should have no problems in signing the player should they follow up. The 21 year old was also photographed posing in a Barcelona shirt with club scout Andre Cury.
Coutinho was a priority target of Barcelona during the summer transfer window and Ernesto Valverde’s team had three offers rejected for the player by Liverpool.
Spanish source Don Balon claims that Messi is not happy with his club being interested in Arthur and instead wants them to reignite their interest in Coutinho.
Messi reportedly believes that there are already players who are similar to Arthur within the clubs academy. Barcelona meanwhile played out to a disappointing 2 -2 La Liga draw against Celta Vigo this weekend.
