Everton FC have been tipped by the bookies as the favorites to sign Sunderland defender Lamine Kone in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Sunderland are believed to be looking to sell defender Lamine Kone to help with their financial situation and it looks like the Black Cats have found a suitor to buy the 28-year-old defender in the form of Everton.
Everton are looking for fresh faces to replace the likes of Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams, who are into the twilight of their respective careers and Kone is believed to be seen as the ideal replacement for the veteran defenders by Everton.
New Everton boss Sam Allardyce is a big fan of the defender and the 63-year-old is of the opinion that the Ivorian will be an ideal fit for the Toffees.
This has convinced the bookies to tip Everton to be the favorites at 3/1 to land Kone during the January transfer window and as Allardyce has previously worked with the defender before, a transfer could well be on the cards.
