Swansea City boss denies interest in signing Liverpool man

Solanke

Swansea manager Paul Clement has said that Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke is not a realistic target for his club.

The Swans have been struggling in front of goal this season and their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea in the League this week marked the fourth successive match that they failed to find the back of the net.

This has led to speculation that the Welsh club could attempt to sign Solanke, who Clement knows well from his time at Chelsea on loan during the January transfer window.

However Clement added that the youngster is not on his clubs list of targets. They will need to sign players who are proven scorers considering their current situation.

Clement said: “[Solanke] is a really good player but I can’t see that Liverpool would want to let him go. He is not a name we have highlighted because we see him as a player that’s doing really well at his own club.

“But when you see our goal-scoring record and our ability to create chances we have to strengthen in forward positions.

“How many players that will be it is difficult to say, but one or two players in the forward positions would be a big help for us. We are trying to identify them but it has to be players who are realistic targets to bring here.”
