Aston Villa club owner Dr Tony Xia has revealed the points target that he set for the team this season.
The Villains are enjoying a fairly successful Championship season so far and currently occupy fourth position on the Championship standings.
Bruce’s side struggled last season and ended up finishing in 13th position on the League standings.
They have however shown significant improvement in terms of their confidence and attitude this season and could be in line to challenge for promotion.
A happy Xia has now said: “I think it’s fine to say that we didn’t start as well as we expected this season. But after the close of the transfer window, we have been getting better and better.
“We set a target of two points every game to achieve automatic promotion and for the last few games we have been hitting that target.”
The Chinese owner has been a major driving force behind Villa’s desire to return to the Premier League though he has been subjected to criticism for the way in which he interferes with first team affairs.
