Rangers might not be making any swift move to appoint a new manager after all, as nothing is yet to indicate that they are.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes, prior to publicly reassuring the Dons of his commitments, revealed that the Ibrox club are yet to officially approach him, despite claims he’s the favorite for the job.
Former Celtic star and pundit Kris Commons has now revealed that Rangers might actually not be doing anything as regards getting a new boss.
Commons reckons the fact that the media haven’t gotten wind of pictures of any managerial candidates around the club’s facilities, that would have confirmed an interview process was ongoing, could maybe mean nothing is actually going on.
He wrote in his The Scottish Daily Mail column: “Why are there no paparazzi pictures of managerial candidates coming out of Ibrox or Auchenhowie? It looks like there’s nothing going on.”
Rangers continue to get linked with a new candidate for the job every other week, and almost 10 names have come up since Pedro Caixinha was fired some 5 weeks ago.
With the club’s number 1 choice for the position now clearly out of reach, it seems the board is at sixes and sevens concerning what to do next, as it’s taking forever for a conclusion to be reached.
