As per reports, Leeds United are keeping tabs on Red Bull Salzburg’s Israeli international Moanes Dabour as they identify targets for the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old has scored 14 goals in 19 games across the Austrian Bundesliga and Europa League this term, and having such a quality goalscorer, who has proven himself at Maccabi Tel Aviv and Grasshopper Zurich, can help Leeds clinch a playoffs spot.
Despite being unpopular in Europe, Dabour could end up being Leeds’ own version of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.
Before lighting up the Premier League with his explosive eye-catching performances at Southampton and Anfield, Mane was once honing his goalscoring skills at Salzburg.
The Senegalese’s best return in a league season (16 goals) till date came at the Austrian side, and Dabour is quickly closing in on the record.
While the prospect of proving himself in the Championship in order to attract bigger suitors could lure the Israeli to Elland Road in January, playing in the next rounds of the Europa League and a potential league title could be too much a sacrifice for him to make.
Should Leeds somehow manage to land Dabour, though, they might just have the next Sadio Mane on their hands.
