West Ham and Crystal Palace battling to sign English midfielder

According to a report published by The Daily Mirror, West Ham and Crystal Palace are both interested in signing Harry Arter from Bournemouth.

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson is looking to improve his squad in January in order to try and avoid relegation this season.

West Ham likewise will be looking for reinforcements during the January transfer window given that they are currently facing the threat of relegation.

The 27-year-old Arter has so far played 9 games in all competitions and scored one goal for the Cherries who are languishing in 13th position on the standings. Arter’s currently contract with the Cherries runs until 2021.

Bournemouth could therefore likely be hesitant to sell him at this point in time as his performances have been solid whenever called upon.

In addition to this, the Cherries will also be aware that a string of bad results could result in them joining the relegation dogfight and they may therefore need to use whatever resources they have.
