Liverpool handed a huge injury boost ahead of Chelsea clash

Liverpool have received a boost ahead of their crucial Premier League game against Chelsea on Saturday after defender Joel Matip returned to training.

The Cameroon international has had to miss his side’s last two games with a thigh injury but was pictured taking part in the clubs training session at Melwood on Thursday and is in line to be selected for Saturday’s game.

Another player who could be set for a return against the Blues is Adam Lallana as he made a return this week following three months out with a thigh problem.

Chelsea will head into the game as favorites as will be looking to extend their recent four game winning run in the Premier League.

Though the Reds have been in fine form in the League as well, the Blues may also have a psychological advantage. This is because Jurgen Klopp’s side are coming of a disappointing 3-3 Champions League draw against Sevilla.

There is certainly no shame in drawing against a club such as Sevilla but what made the result rather frustrating was the fact that the Merseyside club blew a 3-0 half-time lead to draw 3-3.
